A Thornless Rose
by Frank Cavano
(Bluffton, S.C.)
Incandescent Light---- Enclave in a foreign state Ignoring barbs of hidden hate You tread the silent sand.
Heart devoid of fright- Blazing Grace to endless tribes Forgiving ears to hostile vibes In You Love takes Its stand.
Oh, Incandescent Light- Why seek we the helpless dark Ignoring our own perfect spark Much closer than our hand?
I do not comprehend---- The map was clearly drawn by You. 'Tis but a fool shares not Your view Preferring still his sad repose. I do not understand---- Your wordless Song is there to hear Why cup both ears in pointless fear And fail to grasp the Thornless Rose.
