Becoming an illuminating star…

The road was sandy white
uncurved and quiet
bare and long
with no end in sight
I slowly walked up the road
The skies were dusky
yet soothing
I looked up to the sky
there I saw myself all alone
as a star
Then there was a voice…and the voice…
so deep and wise it sounded, saying,
“Be a star, illuminating but not burning.”
