black snake in dream

i dreamt that i was sleeping in my bed and i felt something move next to me and jumped out of bed and pulled back the covers.as i pulled back the covers, a black snake, stood as would a cobra and stood to my eye level and stared right into my eyes..then i woke up.i have to say though i was not afraid but did feel 'challenged' and / threatened.
