Communion of Hearts

When I lay my head
next to the beloved’s heart
and nestle into that harbor
of refuge and rest,
I enter into a sanctuary of love
slipping silently into the soul.
When I am immersed and baptized
in the rivers and streams
of the water of life,
my heart turns the water into wine.
When I sing and croon
in the night,
I send my heart songs
on the wings of freedom’s flight.
Oh my friends, you are held
in dearest love,
by One deep within your soul.
Let us celebrate the light
rising out of the darkness
of all that is unknown,
hidden in the sacred chambers
of each and every heart.
May we know the healing touch,
and welcome
the sweetest communion of all
that only love can give.
