(Maplewood, New Jersey)
I have been plagued with depression for most of my life, most of the time my practices were bent on "escapping the sadness" and escsaping the mental turture which is a part of this illness. What usually evokes my depression are worries about the future and a sense of unworthiness that comes from things that happened in the past. Fifteen hours ago, early in this day, I decided to just notice the world, to really see colors and to have a more conscious tactile experience of the world I was walking thrrough. Wow what a difference.
