reoccurring snake dream

I have this dream pretty often of very vivid snakes in my yard that I grew up or at the pond behind the house where I played a lot growing up. This last particular dream I was with a guy at the pond and I pointed out there was a snake and then another and another until we was surrounded. This happens a lot in my snake dreams. I don't ever get bit, but this time the guy got bit by a very vivid black cobra. We ran to my house and I called 911... they did nothing and then the dream got weird. Sometimes I dream there are alligators in the pond or i've had dreams of swimming in it with monstrous fish. This time a dinosaur like monster came out and then turned into a deformed woman and child like you would see in a tabloid. Weird right?! Then I woke up.
