Somewhere in the world
there is a heart that discovers hope
even in the midst of impossible pain.
Somewhere in the world
there is a heart that continues to love
in the face of great cruelty and loss.
Somewhere in the world
there is a heart that has faith
in spite of poverty without relief.
Somewhere in the world
there is a heart that is grateful for beauty
and courage of the human spirit.
Somewhere in the world
there is a heart who lives the truth
of a God who loves us all.
Somewhere in the world
there is a heart that touches my own
when I feel terribly alone.
Somewhere in the world
there is a heart that offers shelter
when I am searching for a home.
Somewhere in the world
there is a heart that helps keep the door
to heaven open for the rest of us.
Thank you for being a light in the night
a voice of hope in the empty times
a living sign of love on earth.
