Years Gone By

Eleven years have gone by since you were called home
And here I am without you all alone
Eleven years ago I asked God to be my Valentine
Since I no longer had anyone to call all mine
Now eleven years later, here I am writing again
The only difference this is now, that was then
The words to my poem have changed
But being alone is still the same
I have not found that special someone to love
Since you went to heaven above.
I just trust God and pray
That he will send someone my way
So I sit here eleven years later
Asking God once again for a favor
Since I have no one to call all mine
God this year will you be my Valentine?
